After being a part of a high school football team with a winning streak of 151 games and three national championships, T.J. Ward was recruited by the University of Oregon. That same year, he was honored as scout team’s defensive player of the week. In 2007, he parlayed his role as one of the team’s top special standouts with 21 tackles in 13 appearances while covering kickoffs. During the following season, Ward tied for fifth in conference as a first-year starter and earned (coaches) Pacific-10 honorable mention. And finally, in 2009, he ended his collegiate playing career with a 21-tackle performance and 22 season-high stops.
