Description
Mike Williams was offered several scholarships from multiple universities, but wouldn’t settle until he found a school that would start him as a wide receiver. The University of Southern California offered him his granted position and in 2002, he started his freshman year. He achieved a USC and Pac-10 Conference freshman record of 81 receptions for 1,265 yards and 14 touchdowns. By his final Trojans season as a sophomore, he started all 13 games as a wide receiver and led the team in 1,314 receiving yards and 16 touchdowns. Williams was a finalist for the nation’s top receiver (the Biletnikoff Award) the following year and finished eighth in running for the Heisman Trophy Award.
