That decade is famous primarily for the “Brock for Broglio” trade between the Cardinals and their archrivals, the Cubs. Chicago traded away their struggling left fielder, Lou Brock, for Ernie Broglio, who in turn was coming off some impressive seasons while pitching for the Cards. The blunder of the trade was felt immediately as Brock would bat .348 for the Cardinals, eventually leading them to win the 1964 World Series. Since then, the “Brock for Broglio” phrase came to signify a trade that turns out to be a ridiculously lopsided transaction, but for now, you can remind everyone of a great moment in Cardinals’ history with this shirt.
